Join us for the Annual HTCA July 4th Parade

Come march with your neighbors at the 20th annual Huntington Terrace Citizens’ Association 4th of July parade!

  • Wednesday, July 4th @ 10:00 A.M.
  • Meet us at the intersection of Madison and Grant streets
  • Wave flags!
  • Deck out your bikes and wagons and strollers in red, white, and blue!
  • Make lots of patriotic noise (drums, kazoos, horns, percussion encouraged!)
  • March with us down to the Bradley Hills Elementary School playground for games and snacks.

Help make the 20th Annual Parade a success! Call Ann Dorough (301) 581-0194 if you would like to help set up, lead a game, serve refreshments. Kids welcome to help too, and we give community service credit if your school allows it.

Block party photos

They came from far and wide . . .

OK, well maybe from just around the corner! There was a terrific turnout for the Huntington Terrace neighborhood block party on Saturday June 9th. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather, delicous food and desserts, toys and games for kids, but most of all socializing with our wonderful neighbors. We hope to make this an annual Huntington Terrace tradition.img_0675.JPGimg_0677.JPGimg_0679.JPGimg_0681.JPGimg_0683.JPG

Triangle Beautification/Free Trees Available through Montgomery County

[note from admin]:The following was sent in an email to HTCA.net and is reproduced here for your convenience. I’ve also reproduced the attachments as posts and hyperlinked them from this message. Click on the hyperlinks to view them.

The attached information was distributed at the block party on July 9th, however; if you missed it, please check it out and share with your neighbors who do not access this web-site.

The first attachment describes a Montgomery County program that gives residents free trees for the front “tree lawn” areas of their home. If you recently have had a diseased tree taken down, or have sustained storm damage, this would be the place to request a replacement tree, stump grinding, etc. Even if you never had a tree there before, the County will still plant one for you. Please check out all the information provided, and the phone numbers to call. This is a great opportunity to get on their fall planting schedule!

Also attached is general information about the triangle landscaping project. We really need volunteers to make this a true community project. There are numerous ways in which to help and all gardeners and non-gardeners are very welcome to participate. It will be a fun and “neighbor-bonding” experience, so please don’t miss out!!!

If you have any questions about any of the information provided, please contact me on (301) 493-6968 or via e-mail at d.perry1 at starpower dot net.
