A coordinator is needed for this year’s Halloween party and parade. This year’s festivities will take place on Sunday October 30. Please contact Amy Shiman at ashiman301 at starpower dot net if you are interested in volunteering.

Consider donating your time and talent to your neighborhood by serving on the HTCA Board for a two-year term. Contact either Ivette Riveria (301) 581-0156 or Susan Schaefer (301) 571-5310; they comprise the Nominating Committee for elections that will be held in mid-January 2012.
Live Jazz music performed by our own talented neighbors, a kids’ bouncy house, great conversation, and delicious treats! The success of our Centennial Celebration last fall encouraged us to host another free festival. All residents are welcome! Bring your whole family plus a dish of food to share. (Grilled hotdogs and hamburgers provided). Sunday October 2 from 4-7:30pm at lower Lincoln Street. Contact Amy Shiman (301) 803-7038 to volunteer with HTCA welcome booth, food/beverage, decorations, setup up, or clean up.

With over 60 hardy neighbors in attendance, some 40 of whom sported Abraham Lincoln hats and beards, the event commemorating Lincoln and celebrating our own Lincoln Street was deemed a success. The threat (and reality) of cold weather, high winds and odd stares from passers-by did not deter many Huntington Terrace citizens from wishing our 16th president a 200th birthday.
A slide show of the photographs has been uploaded. Take a look at the great photographs whether you at the event or not — it was a sight to behold!
