HTCA v Suburban Hospital – COSA Decision

We learned on September 13 that the Maryland Court of Special Appeals on Sept. 10 affirmed the Montgomery County Circuit Court ruling of 2012 permitting Suburban Hospital to go forward with its expansion. The Court of Special Appeals case was argued one year ago.

The board of directors of the Huntington Terrace Citizens’ Association (HTCA) is working to schedule a community meeting to discuss the decision and possible next steps. We would have 30 days from Sept. 10 to file an appeal if the community so decides. We will let you know as soon as possible when we establish a meeting date and secured a venue.

The court’s decision is available from our Web site. Download it here

Weeding Party

weedHello Huntington Terrace Neighbors:

It is that time of year again when the plants seem to explode at the HT community garden. If you haven’t checked it out already, please take a look at what’s coming up at the triangle at Garfield and Roosevelt! Hopefully you’ll be pleasantly surprised…

Unfortunately, mixed in along with our beautiful shrubs and perennials, a few weeds have also decided to show their face. From 9-11 am, Saturday, July 13th, we are looking for volunteers to come and assist with pulling those little green annoyances out of our beautiful community garden If you can stop by for 30 minutes or an hour that would be great. Extra tools will be available, but if you have garden gloves, please bring them. If this date does not work for you, please feel free to come by and pull weeds anytime in the weeks and months ahead – helpers are always welcome.

This is a neighborhood project so any contribution (labor or financial) are most welcome. As always, our personal thanks to EVERYONE who has graciously assisted and/or contributed previously.

Hope to see you on the 13th!
