Today the MCPS Superintendent released his recommendation for the Woodward boundary study and it includes no changes to the Whitman cluster (which includes Pyle Middle School and Bradley Hills Elementary)! Thanks to each and every one of you for the tremendous collective effort–the emails, the calls, and survey responses.
The board of education is reviewing the recommendation and will vote to adopt a final option on March 26. We’re hopeful that it will adopt the superintendent’s recommendation with few or no changes. As always, we’ll share updates as we have them.
It’s worth noting that today MCPS also began discussing a proposed countywide elementary school boundary study that would follow consideration of potential consolidations at the middle and elementary school levels. The next step is for the board of education to adopt a timeline for that process. We have reason to believe that Bradley Hills Elementary School is unlikely to be affected by this boundary study, but we’ll be monitoring for any proposed changes. More to come this spring.
